Crazy God is a bold and thought-provoking theatrical journey where William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Heiner Müller’s Hamlet Machine, and Allen Ginsberg’s Howl collide in a visceral exploration of human brutality. The performance examines the depths of madness, asking: How far can one descend in the pursuit of profit and power?
At the heart of Crazy God lies the story of a man consumed by pride and hubris, believing himself to be a god on Earth. Through this central figure, the performance interrogates universal themes of greed, corruption, and the fragile nature of humanity.
Featuring an international cast representing fourteen nationalities, the production weaves together diverse social and religious perspectives. The result is a dynamic and multifaceted examination of human behavior across cultures.
A Unique Theatrical Experience
The production blends:
Physical Theatre: Bringing raw emotion and energy to the stage.
Poignant Text: Drawing from Shakespeare, Müller, and Ginsberg, the performance layers profound literary depth.
Rich Polyphony: A signature of Song of the Goat Theatre, enriching the narrative with vocal harmony and intensity.
Through its daring fusion of styles, Crazy God challenges audiences to reflect on ethical and existential dilemmas. The performance is an unforgettable confrontation with the extremes of human nature and the consequences of unchecked ambition.
