Hamlet – A Commentary
Hamlet – A Commentary is a groundbreaking theatrical experiment based on polyphonic song structures. Fourteen actors bring characters, events, and emotions to life through intricate sounds. The production transforms Shakespeare’s narrative into a musical journey, where the text becomes melody and traditional storytelling gives way to harmonic interpretations. Words and music mirror the inner dynamics of the characters and their family ties, offering a unique perspective on the classic tale.
Set two months before the main plot of Hamlet, the performance unfolds on the night of the old king’s murder. The stage becomes a Shakespearian vigil, reminiscent of pagan rituals honoring the spirits of the dead. Blending Shakespearean characters with new, original figures, the production expands the world of the play in innovative ways.
